About our Nursery:

The Nursery class is led by a Teacher and two Early Years Assistants. Children are encouraged to participate in a range of stimulating, fun learning activities to prepare them for school including phonics, sounds time, pencil control, group activities and much much more. Our Nursery Class ensures that every child gains the most from their nursery experience and helps make their journey into reception an easy and happy one.

Our nursery class is a teacher-led environment in a bright open-plan space aimed at children aged 3-4. The nursery class room is set up for learning through play, with a role play, small world toys, story corner, block play, mark making, number area, investigation station, creative area and a mud kitchen amongst others.

Spring Term

This term we will be looking at some new topics 'People Who Help Us' and 'Plants and Animals'.

We look at different occupations and how they might help us. We will have a visit from our local PCSO to tell us how they help our community, a dentist who will show us how to look after our teeth and we will also have a visit from a fire engine too!

During our 'Plants and Animals' topic. We will thinking about different how plants and animals grow. We will be getting a special delivery of caterpillars to observe closely to see how they grow and we will also be growing our own beanstalks too!

Tapestry

Remember to look on Tapestry frequently to see some of the amazing things we are getting up to! We will continue to keep updating Tapestry with any important information as well as any observations we make on your children. Alternatively we would love you to upload anything that your child is doing at home as we love to learn about your child's learning journey at home.

Phonics Parent Video

Historically in the Autumn term we would welcome you into school to talk about your child’s reading and phonics journey. Sadly, with the current pandemic this is not something that we are able to do .We tried a zoom session last year but understand how difficult this can be with work and childcare commitments as well as the dreaded technical issues that frequently arise! This year we have tried something a bit different. The staff from Nursery, Reception and Year One have come together to make a video for you. Please don’t expect any wonderful acting or photography but we are hoping that this makes your child’s phonic journey a little bit clearer to you. Please find the link below so that you can watch it in your leisure.
