About our Nursery:
The Nursery class is led by a Teacher and two Early Years Assistants. Children are encouraged to participate in a range of stimulating, fun learning activities to prepare them for school including phonics, sounds time, pencil control, group activities and much much more. Our Nursery Class ensures that every child gains the most from their nursery experience and helps make their journey into reception an easy and happy one.
Our nursery class is a teacher-led environment in a bright open-plan space aimed at children aged 3-4. The nursery class room is set up for learning through play, with a role play, small world toys, story corner, block play, mark making, number area, investigation station, creative area and a mud kitchen amongst others.
Autumn Term
We would like to welcome all our new friends and families to our first term in Nursery. We will be spending lots of time this term getting to know each other, making friends and exploring our wonderful nursery environment.
In our Autumn term we will be reading lots of new books including 'The Colour Monster', which helps us to identify and understand the different emotions we may feel, and our No Outsiders stories, 'Blue Chameleon' and 'The Smeds and the Smoos'.
We will also begin to look at the changes that are occurring in the natural environment around us as the season changes to Autumn. We will be looking at how the weather changes and how this effects different plants and animals. We will be reading the stories 'Leaf Man', 'It was a cold dark night' and 'We're going on a leaf hunt'.
