About our Nursery:

Our nursery class is a teacher-led environment in a bright open-plan space aimed at children aged 3-4. The nursery class room is set up for learning through play, with a role play, small world toys, story corner, block play, mark making, number area, investigation station, creative area and a mud kitchen amongst others.

The Nursery class is led by a Teacher and two Early Years Assistants. Children are encouraged to participate in a range of stimulating, fun learning activities to prepare them for school including phonics, sounds time, pencil control, group activities and much much more. Our Nursery Class ensures that every child gains the most from their nursery experience and helps make their journey into reception an easy and happy one.

Autumn Term

In our first term in school we will begin by thinking about ourselves and our families. We will begin to establish routines and boundaries in the classroom by role-playing different situations and playing lots of circle games. We will be thinking about our feelings and how others may feel using the story The Colour Monster.

                                                   The colour monster

We will then go on to explore the changes in our environment that Autumn brings. We will use the story 'Leaf Man' to talk about shapes, colours and textures of leaves and we will explore our outdoor spaces to find signs of Autumn.

Tapestry

Remember to look on Tapestry frequently to see some of the amazing things we are getting up to! We will continue to keep updating Tapestry with any important information as well as any observations we make on your children. Alternatively we would love you to upload anything that your child is doing at home as we love to learn about your child's learning journey at home.
