About our Nursery:
The Nursery class is led by a Teacher and two Early Years Assistants. Children are encouraged to participate in a range of stimulating, fun learning activities to prepare them for school including phonics, sounds time, pencil control, group activities and much much more. Our Nursery Class ensures that every child gains the most from their nursery experience and helps make their journey into reception an easy and happy one.
Our nursery class is a teacher-led environment in a bright open-plan space aimed at children aged 3-4. The nursery class room is set up for learning through play, with a role play, small world toys, story corner, block play, mark making, number area, investigation station, creative area and a mud kitchen amongst others.
Summer Term
This term we will enjoying a topic all about Space. An alien spaceship has crashed into Nursery and some aliens have escaped around our school. We have to work together to make sure they are all captured and sent back to space. We reading some stories to help us to capture the aliens
Later in the term we will look at holidays. We will be enjoying a camping role play, making ice lollies and milkshakes, thinking about sun safety and junk modelling different modes of transport.
Tapestry
Remember to look on Tapestry frequently to see some of the amazing things we are getting up to! We will continue to keep updating Tapestry with any important information as well as any observations we make on your children. Alternatively we would love you to upload anything that your child is doing at home as we love to learn about your child's learning journey at home.
Phonics Parent Video
Historically in the Autumn term we would welcome you into school to talk about your child’s reading and phonics journey. Sadly, with the current pandemic this is not something that we are able to do .We tried a zoom session last year but understand how difficult this can be with work and childcare commitments as well as the dreaded technical issues that frequently arise!
This year we have tried something a bit different. The staff from Nursery, Reception and Year One have come together to make a video for you. Please don’t expect any wonderful acting or photography but we are hoping that this makes your child’s phonic journey a little bit clearer to you. Please find the link below so that you can watch it in your leisure.https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t-GAVS6coEezk3FgtpzEcuCMXzPMNYvQ/view?usp=sharing
