Welcome to school, Reception!
We hope you have all had a great Summer and are looking forward to starting school. This term our topic is going to be focusing on 'What do we like to eat?' We will start off by looking at 'The Gingerbread Man', re-telling this story through drama using the repetitive language. The Gingerbread Man will also be visiting our classroom throughout the first half term. I wonder what cheeky antics he will get up to? We will then move on to the story 'I am going to eat this ant.' We have planned many interesting activities both indoors and outdoors based on this theme. To see some of these activities look at our medium term planning below.
The children have P.E lessons every Friday. The children are able to come into school in their PE kit on Friday and wear this throughout the day. Please bring jumpers and trousers for colder days.
Remember to look on Tapestry frequently to see some of the amazing things we are getting up to! We will continue to keep updating Tapestry with any important information as well as any observations we make on your children. Alternatively we would love you to upload anything that your child is doing at home as we love to learn about your child's learning journey at home.
All children have been given a school water bottle. This needs to be brought to school each day having been washed and re filled with fresh water from home. Children will be reminded at the end of the day to bring home their lunch bag and water bottle to be washed ready for the next day. We have turned off our water filter system so children will not be able to fill up their water bottle in the usual way. All classes have access to drinking water throughout the day should the children require extra water.
Please ensure your child brings a coat to school each day. We had a rainy start to the term but we are trying as much as possible to allow the children their outdoor breaks which may mean us putting coats on to go out in the rain as much as possible without getting too wet. Please ensure all coats are clearly named.
