Tudors

We will be enjoying lots of different art, design and food technology this summer term. We will be sketching still life in art and looking at designing chocolate packaging in DFT.

In French this term, we will be learning how to identify ID cards, talk about ourselves with simple sentences and how to say school subjects.

Times Table Rockstars

Please keep practising your times tables at home to maintain fluency in them! :)

Showbie

We will be using Showbie as a way to share resources and communicate. You can use this area to upload any homework you have completed for this term. Usernames and logins are the same as last year.

Our class Showbie code is: 8CCFG

PE

Our P.E. days will be on Monday Afternoon and Tuesday morning. Children are asked to come dressed in their P.E. kits on those days.

BLP Animals

Rhino Resilient Rhino

 BeaverResourceful Beaver

Tortoise  Reflective Tortoise

 Ant Reciprocity Ant (teamwork)

In this school, we use all of our learning muscles in different ways. We work together as ants, showing one another a new strategy for learning or supporting each other. We are resilient rhinos - never giving up and making sure that we have put the most effort we can into an activity. We are resourceful beavers - using resources in and around the classroom to scaffold our learning and support us in lessons. We are reflective tortoises - we look back on achievements and accomplishments.

What went well? What did I learn? What do I need to improve on? How can I be even better than what I am already?

Growth mindset statements

Home School Enrichment

Home learning tasks will be set on Showbie (8CCFG) and children have a blue book that they can record any learning in, if they wish to use lined paper.

For Year 5's weekly homework, we will be setting a writing focus each week. Reading at least three times a week is a great way to support reading comprenhension at home. Times tables help support our new learning in class, particularly as we are looking at fractions and as we move onto long mulitplication.

Freckle is an online platform used in class on Friday's to support learning, it sets learning at each child's learning stage, in addition I can set specfic learning that we have looked at recently in class, this site can also be used at home. The class code is 45rnt8 and the children use their full name to login.

Water Bottles

All children have been given a school water bottle. This needs to be brought to school each day having been washed and re filled with fresh water from home. Children will be reminded at the end of the day to bring home their lunch bag and water bottle to be washed ready for the next day. We have turned off our water filter system so children will not be able to fill up their water bottle in the usual way. All classes have access to drinking water throughout the day should the children require extra water.

PE

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. On these days we ask that your child comes to school in their PE clothes rather than their school uniform.

Weather dependant they can wear their shorts and school coloured PE T- shirt and school jumper. If the weather is cold, then track suit bottoms/leggings would be more suitable. Trainers are preferable to pumps as it is possible the children may be outdoors for some lessons.
