Miss Chapman

Hi everyone! Welcome back to the Summer term!

Our topic this term is.......... SpyKidz!

The text that we will be using to guide our learning is...

Over the course of the term we will be learning about the history of spies and crime and punishment over the ages.

We will be taking part in lots of experiments and building our own spy gadgets! We are going to have lots of fun!

Don't forget that this term we are also going on our residential to Langdale where we will be participating in an Alex Rider Spy Mission!

Swimming

Children will be taking part in a seven week course which commences on Tuesday 17thApril during school time. The sessions will then continue on the following dates: 24thApril, 1stMay, 8th May, 15thMay, 22ndMay and the 5thJune.

Every Tuesday, children will need a bag with a towel, swimming costume/trunks and a cap or bobble for long hair and a hair brush. Children will be put into groups depending on their ability. Qualified swimming instructors will assess children during the first lesson. All children can take part in these swimming lessons whatever their level of confidence or ability.

Homework
All of you will be given a new topic homework plan and this will be stuck into your Home School Diary. There will also be a copy attached on our Year 3 web page when the homework grid is completed.

We also continue to ask you to enjoy reading regularly at home, work on your times tables and we may set additional maths tasks which can be completed through the online 'My Maths' program or using 'Sumdog'. These activities will continue to be recorded in Home School Diaries.

Spellings

There will also be weekly spellings given out each week on a Monday and tested the following Monday.

PE Days
This term we will  have PE with Mr Slaney and Miss Walker from Premier Sports who will work with us on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. All children need red shorts, pumps and trainers (outdoors). The new coloured T-shirts (one for each of our houses) for PE can be ordered from the school's online uniform supplier. Girls will need to tie long hair back and cover any earrings. PE kits will also stay in school all term now.
