Week Beginning 24th April

A beanstalk has started growing in our classroom! After planting some seeds a beanstalk just like the one from our story Jack and the Beanstalk is grwoing in our classroom! We're very excited!

This week we have been reading the story Jack and the Beanstalk. We have really enjoyed the story and had great fun acting it out in the Hall. We particularly liked stomping around shouting 'Fee Fi Fo Fum!' In Literacy we have been using our knowledge of the story to create a story string. We have been identifying the different characters and locations and have been chatting lots about what happens in the story. Using our story string we then retold the story. Miss Stott was super impressed with our amazing writing!

The plant themed fun doesn't stop there though! This week we have also been on a flower hunt. We had a lovely time walking around the School grounds spotting different types of flowers. We saw daisy's, dandelions, buttercups, ivy, nettles, bluebells and blossom. We thought the blossom was very pretty.

We are looking forward to another exciting week where we will be learning more about how flowers grow and will be planting our own sunflowers to help us do our homework.

We look forward to another exciting week!
