Week Beginning 11th July 2016

Date: 13th Jul 2016 @ 10:19pm

We're nearly coming to the end of Year 4! How quick has this year gone?

Another busy week in Year 4 whilst preparing and performing our KS2 performance. It has been tiring but we've had lots of fun performing the songs we've been learning over the last few weeks. Thank you to everyone who came to watch us.

This week we have been making our final preparations for our businesses and have displayed the posters in the KS2 area to share with the rest of KS2 what our businesses are all about. We have spent time gathering every thing we need to make our businesses run successfully and smoothly ready for our Enterprise on Monday.

In our science work we have been learning all about the ear and how it works. We have learnt that the ear has different sections and within these sections there are different parts that do different things. We know that ears are very sensitive and how much of an important role the ear plays with sending messages (sound) to the brain!

We have had lots of fun in our design and technology work this week building a structure using some different materials. Miss Brock set us the challenge of building the tallest tower (that didn't fall over) with only spaghetti and marshmallows! It was quite tricky and very sticky, but we enjoyed working together to build our towers even though some were more successful than others. We discussed what worked and what didn't and how we'd change our designs if we were to have another go. The winning tower measured 76cm!
