Pupil Voice

We are very keen to make sure our children have a voice. This is achieved at our school through children taking part in three forums. These are the school council, the Eco Council and Year 6 Road safety Officers.

The school council is a group of two children from all classes from Year 1 , members of staff and a member of the governing body. The group meets every three weeks and discuss issues related to all aspects of school life. The issues raised in the past have been varied and all issues are taken seriously and addressed when ever possible. School council have been involved in the new school lunch system, school playground improvements, trying to make the toilets smell sweeter and many other issues. The group also write a column for our half termly children’s Newsletter.

The recently formed Eco Council meet weekly to look at issues related to making our school an Eco friendly school. They monitor how classes and staff recycle different products and look at ways that we can help to make our school more energy efficient. The Road Safety Officers role is to make sure children are aware of dangers on the roads and have strategies to tackle them. They run competitions looking at different aspects of road safety.
