Maths and English homework

The children will be having weekly Maths and English tasks set. For Maths, these tasks could range from a Sumdog challenge, contest or assessment to written SAT style questions or word problems. For English, these could range from a Sumdog reading or writing challenge or assessment to a written task or comprehension SAT style questions. 

Both sets of homework will be set on a Monday and will be reviewed the following Monday. 

We have provided your child with an English and a Maths homework book. They can use these books to stick in sheets or use as a way of recording their homework. This is particularly helpful when working out maths calculations. For some pieces of homework, we will be using Showbie to enable the children to upload their tasks once they have completed them. 

Spellings and Reading

Along with this homework, the children should be practising their spellings and reading as much as they can at home, which will support both their reading ability and their writing.
