What will I be learning this year?

Mastering Number

As well as following the Power Maths scheme, we have four weekly sessions on Mastering Number: a nationwide project aimed at teachers and pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. It is aimed at strengthening the understanding of number, and fluency with number facts, among children in the first three years of school. Over the year, we will use a range of materials and representations, including a small abacus-like piece of equipment called a rekenrek.
